About
Andrew began playing the tenor saxophone in elementary school after hearing his older brother’s records of Sonny Rollins. Taking lessons at the local university and picking up clarinet study soon after, Andrew earned a B. M. Saxophone Performance at North Dakota State University as a Bill Euren Fellowship recipient. After spending some time living in Seattle, Andrew and his wife (plus Gus the Boston terrier) made the move to Saint Paul, MN in 2016.
Andrew’s first repair attempt was a full repad of a tenor made by H.N. White, at age 14. Though not a complete success, this formative experience remained as a positive memory through the ensuing years.
In 2023, Andrew began pursuing training as a saxophone repair specialist from local experts in the Twin Cities and Iowa.
